Games Night - Sitcom Pilot

GAMES NIGHT is a sitcom pilot based in and around the role-play games shop, 'Gateway Games'.

A scene from 'Games Night'.

The comedy is the emotional journey of a teenager stuck with his dad for the summer - a dad who is emotionally stunted and more concerned with how he's doing on the gaming leader boards than he is with parenting. Set in the somewhat niche world of strategy gaming, the sitcom is populated with unique characters who, despite their idiosyncrasies, prove to be a surprisingly affable and touching bunch.

Gerard plays the role of Tobias; a man more obsessed than most with the gaming world. The cast includes award-winning stand-up Toby Williams as well as actors Saskia Portway and Andy McCullough.

The full pilot episode of Games Night can be watched here.

Director Martin Morrison brings vast experience of 15 years television directing on shows such as Grand Designs and One Born Every Minute. Writers Andrew Endersby and Sam Morrison come from an animation background with previous film Rocket Science! nominated for a British Animation Award; director of photography Sam Morris has worked on numerous award-winning projects with Bristol-based Aardman Animations.

The Games Night pilot was made possible through crowd-source funding. More information on the production process and the response from potential commissioning producers, can be found here.

Games Night has been selected for screening as part of Aesthetica Film Festival, York in November 2016.
